“As much as I love an infinity pool, give me a long soak in a bathtub any day” – Maria
I’ve finally got around to writing about my weekend at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. My best friend, Georgia finally got engaged, and so to celebrate, our annual girl’s weekend turned into the ultimate pamper party. We had the best time, sipping flutes in the Champagne Bar and working on our tans by the infinity pool – but the real highlight was the bathroom in my room. Sounds weird, I know – but I really think this Sofitel has the most luxurious hotel bathrooms I’ve ever seen!
I just love anything with a modern-chic style, and this had everything; pale marble floors, sophisticated furnishings and huge floor to ceiling windows with incredible views across Darling Harbour – and of course, at the centre of it all, the most enormous bathtub. And yes, there’s even a bubble bath menu. Obviously, I had to try each one and even paid a little bit extra for a Vitamin Caviar Bath with real caviar beads (which trust me, is a lot less fishy than it sounds). My skin has never felt so smooth!
It turns out that the hotel is located in Darling Harbour’s highest tower, so you literally can’t get better views. It took me forever to get ready because I lay there admiring them for so long. Luckily the other girls were just as obsessed, so they didn’t mind! The only downside? I wish [name] could have been there with me, sharing a glass of Champagne and watching the sunset together.
So if my lovely husband just happens to be reading this and wanted to do something super-special to celebrate my 30th next year, I can’t think of a better celebration than this. We stayed in a Luxury room this time, but I heard that the suites are even more spectacular… (plus they include access to the hotel’s private lounge). Again, just saying, a long, luxurious soak in one of the best hotel bathtubs in the world followed by complimentary canapés at Club Millésime and a candlelit dinner at Atelier restaurant sounds pretty great. Besides we’ve got plenty of time to grab a sale or look for a Red Hot Room offer on accorplus.com. Can’t wait 😉
